Can solar nails lengthen your nails the way acrylics do?

I have stubby, short nails that have been bitten down. I usually get acrylics and they make my short nails look long and beautiful. However, I can't seem to figure out if solar nails are applied simply over your natural nail (like a coat) or can they be lengthened with tips too?Can solar nails lengthen your nails the way acrylics do?
Solar Nails are acrylic nails. No difference whatsoever. Most often, the term is used to describe Pink %26amp; White acrylic nails.
