What are solar nails?

What's the difference between solar nails and acrylic nails? And how do you get acrylic nails with black tips? Do they paint them black or do they actually use black fake nails? What are solar nails?
Solar Nails ARE acrylic nails and they are applied in the very same way as acrylic nails because they ARE acrylics. It is just a misleading term that is often used to describe Pink %26amp; Whites (Forever French, or Permanent French - all the same). Some techs will make it seem, or even tell you that this is some new and better way of doing nails, and that its 'better' than acrylic. This is 100% untrue. Like I said, Solar Nails are regular acrylic nails, and the idea of Pink %26amp; Whites is nothing new. Don't pay more for these so-called 'solar nails' either because they will be ripping you off if they do so.

Don't let anyone tell you that they are something other than acrylic nails. The very SAME products are used, and the application process is the very same because, as I said, they are acrylic nails. Period. You still need to go for fills on a regular basis - how often is determined by how fast your nails grow out but generally this is every two weeks but it may vary a bit if your nails grow faster, or slower than average. They do not last any longer than acrylics, nor are they more 'durable' because why? Once again, because they are acrylic nails, plain and simple. Also, the idea of these nails not yellowing is not always true. If the tech uses inferior products on your nails, they will yellow. In thsi case you should find a better tech who uses nothing but the best quality products.

And yes, they are extensions - contrary to popular belief.

The proper way to get black tips is for the tech to use a black acrylic 'powder' on your nails while using a nail form and will literally 'sculpt' the black tip onto your nails.. Acrylic powder is available in all colors imaginable, and a good tech will be able to provide you with a vast amount of color choices for your nails. Only an unskilled tech will paint on the black, or airbrush it on. For best results, you want it to be applied in the form of acrylic. The color possibilities are endless. Here are just a few examples of work which was done by a highly skilled nail tech just to give you an idea of what can be done with acrylics. ALL of the nails on this page were created entirely by hand. No stickers, airbrushing, or any other forms of 'cheating' were used on these nails:

I hope this helps! What are solar nails?
Solar nails are similar to acrylic but are made with a slightly different product. They are not extensions like other acrylic nails because they are applied directly to your own natural nail.

They are just like a French manicure with all the pampering but without the hassle. They are applied in a two step application. After your nails have been prepared for the application by cleaning and buffing your nails and preparing the nail plate then your solar nail application can begin.

The first thing your nail technician will do to apply solar nails is to brush on the “white part” of the French nail. Then the next application is the “pink part”, which goes over the “white”. The acrylic is the “pink”.

Solar nails are the no hassle artificial nails. They do not need to have nail polish so after the pink part is added you are on your way.

Solar nails do not chip, are long lasting, and also help to strengthen your nails all in a French manicure style. Your nail technician will buff your new solar nails and they will be shiny and ready for anything.

If you like to tan, solar nails are wonderful as they do not turn yellow as some artificial nails do when you visit your favorite tanning salon. Solar nails only need refilled about every 3 weeks. So, they are more convenient and economical than most artificial nails.
