Can u paint solar nails ?

I have no idea but my gf is a cosmetologist and she says you can paint them as long as they are cured (they are UV cured). but she recommends a polish without formaldehyde in it such as OPI or Essie. she says that people just don't usually paint them because the purpose of them is to have a clear nail (but the paint will work just fine on them).
